Overview of Basic Operations

Convert fiat to stablecoins or vice versa.

Issuances and redemptions are the most basic transactions you can perform with Juno-issued stablecoins. Issuances occur when you transfer fiat currency to your Juno account and receive stablecoin tokens at a 1:1 ratio, and redemptions are the opposite flow, exchanging stablecoins for fiat currency.

Juno currently supports the following stablecoins:

  • MXNB — pegged 1:1 to the Mexican Peso (MXN), deployed on Arbitrum. Issuances can be triggered via SPEI deposits or Bitso Transfer. Redemptions can be sent to an external bank account via SPEI or to your Bitso MXN balance via Bitso Transfer.
  • BRL1 — pegged 1:1 to the Brazilian Real (BRL), deployed on Polygon. Issuances and redemptions are performed exclusively via Bitso Transfer.

Every MXNB token is fully backed by Mexican peso reserves and cash-equivalent assets held in regulated financial institutions in Mexico. These reserves are regularly audited by third parties to ensure transparency and trust. You can exchange MXNB for fiat MXN and vice versa at the pegged rate of 1:1 through the Mint Platform or API calls.

The Mint Platform and API calls report your balances across all supported stablecoins.
