Product Overview

Easily identify the pay-ins made into your account and create tailor-made disbursement flows.

CLABE Standard

The Clave Bancaria Estandarizada (CLABE), a unique account identifier in the SPEI® (Sistema de Pagos Electrónicos Interbancarios) network, enables financial institutions and Mexico's Central Bank (Banxico) to process payments safely and guarantee that inter-bank fund transfers and automatic service charges are made to the proper accounts.

A CLABE contains 18 digits that identify the institution holding the account and the bank account number itself:

  • 3 Digits: Bank Code
  • 3 Digits: Branch Office Code
  • 11 Digits: Account Number
  • 1 Digit: Control Digit

Mass Payments API

The Mass Payments feature of Juno's accounts enables you to create —via API calls— multiple CLABEs linked to your account, which you can assign to your users at your convenience and implement tailor-made disbursement flows. Each user can have one and only one CLABE assigned to them, not more. Our API automates only the CLABE creation and not the assignment.

The users of your created CLABEs can only transfer funds (deposit) into them via the SPEI® network, and the service credits these funds to your account balance in MXNB. An issuance occurs automatically for every MXN deposit.

Withdrawals are not possible through your created CLABEs. During account generation, the system assigns a CLABE through which outbound transfers are possible. When you request a withdrawal to a bank account via SPEI®, a redemption occurs and Juno's withdrawal service uses your account’s designated CLABE to withdraw the funds. The Mint Platform does not report this CLABE in any way.

The Mass Payments API includes a set of RESTful endpoints that enable you to create CLABEs on demand and then query the operations made using those CLABEs. The functionality includes:

  • Create CLABEs: Set up as many CLABEs as you need in your account and assign them to users in a one-to-one relationship (use of CLABEs per transaction is strictly forbidden).
  • Retrieve a specific CLABE: Get comprehensive details about one of your created CLABEs.
  • List your CLABEs: Retrieve a paginated set of CLABEs that comply with your query parameters.
  • List your CLABEs' deposits: Retrieve a paginated, filtered list of the fundings made into the CLABEs linked to your account.
  • Create mock deposits: Simulate deposits in MXN into your Juno testing account.

Benefit for Users

Because CLABEs can be assigned only on a per-user basis and NOT per transaction, multiple CLABEs associated with your account enable you to quickly identify the fundings (deposits) made by different users and create adequate disbursement flows for them. The CLABE acts as an identification tag for the funds received in your account from a specific user.

The service does not provide a segregated balance by CLABE. However, it provides an endpoint that helps you list the deposits made into a specific CLABE.

Eligibility

Mexican and non-Mexican business customers can hire the Mass Payments feature in their Juno accounts.

Service Cost

The feature requires service and infrastructure, which incur costs per transaction. As a result, charges apply for the use of this feature; deposits into created CLABES and withdrawals are subject to applicable fees. Contact your account manager for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the specific charges associated with this service.
