CLABE Type | The Clave Bancaria Estandarizada(CLABE) standard uniquely identifies an account in Mexico's financial system, and it is useful for sending and receiving inter-bank fund transfers. It contains 18 digits identifying the institution holding the account and the bank account number. Bitso associates a type to the CLABEs linked to an account to differentiate products. When creating your Juno account, a CLABE of type AUTO_PAYMENT is linked to it in addition to a CLABE of type MAIN if you are a Mexican customer, or of type INTERNATIONAL if you are a non-Mexican customer. To trigger issuances, you must use the AUTO_PAYMENT CLABE type, because it is the only type that automatically initiates an issuance. This CLABE is also the only one reported in the funding details of your Juno account. All CLABEs created using Juno's Multiple User CLABEs API are of type AUTO_PAYMENT. |
BRL1 | A stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Brazilian Real (BRL), deployed on the Polygon blockchain. BRL1 issuances and redemptions are performed exclusively via Bitso Transfer. |
Custodial Wallet | A system-assigned wallet linked to each business account at creation. All issuance and redemption operations update the wallet's stablecoin balances. Upon a successful issuance, the service credits the corresponding stablecoin tokens (e.g., MXNB, BRL1) to the wallet. When the wallet holds a positive balance, the account can initiate a redemption to receive the equivalent fiat currency. |
Issuance | The process of minting stablecoin tokens after receiving the equivalent amount in fiat currency (fiat → stablecoin). For MXNB, an issuance can be triggered by depositing MXN via the SPEI® network or via Bitso Transfer. For BRL1, issuances are triggered via Bitso Transfer. In both cases, tokens are issued on a 1:1 basis. |
Juno | The company behind Juno-issued stablecoins (MXNB, BRL1) and the Mint Platform. Juno is part of the Bitso group as a subsidiary of Bitso. |
Mint Platform | Juno's user interface. It enables B2B clients to access stablecoin-related features and functionalities such as issuances, redemptions, asset conversions, pay-ins, and payouts. |
MXNB | A stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Mexican Peso (MXN), deployed on the Arbitrum blockchain. MXNB issuances can be triggered via SPEI deposits or Bitso Transfer, and redemptions can be sent to an external bank account via SPEI or to a Bitso MXN balance via Bitso Transfer. |
Redemption | The exchange of stablecoin tokens for fiat currency on a 1:1 basis (stablecoin → fiat). For MXNB, fiat MXN funds can be received in an external bank account via SPEI or in a Bitso balance via Bitso Transfer. For BRL1, fiat BRL funds are received in a Bitso balance via Bitso Transfer. |
