Customer Onboarding SEPA Transfers

Before initiating any transactions, you must complete the onboarding process, which entails the following:

Accept Bitso's USD Transfers Terms and Conditions (T&C)
Accept our licensed partner's Terms of Service (ToS) and Privacy Policy.
Undergo and approve the KYC compliance assessment. This assessment occurs offline and usually takes 24 hours.

To initiate the customer onboarding process, make the following HTTP request:

The account object returned represents your user account in our partner's systems. The account_status is helpful information in this object because it tells you about the development of your onboarding process. An account can be in one of three states:

STARTED: You have initiated the onboarding process and have accepted Bitso's T&C and our licensed partner’s ToS and Privacy Policy, which began the compliance assessment process. You need to submit information (offline) for the compliance team to verify and approve. Then, this state indicates you are waiting for the result of the KYC compliance assessment process, which we communicate via email whether approved or rejected.
ACTIVE: You have approved the compliance process and are ready to register your bank account and transfer funds.
REJECTED: You still need to get all the checkmarks in the compliance assessment. Our Customer Service team will reach out to help you get your account to the ACTIVE state.

Tracking Your Onboarding Process

You can know at which stage your onboarding process is without contacting any team.

To retrieve the status of your compliance assessment, make the following HTTP request:

It returns the following response object, reporting your account as ACTIVE, STARTED, or REJECTED.
